Your dream kitchen is more than just a space to prepare meals—it’s the heart of your home, where memories are created and everyday moments unfold. At Olympia Design Studio, we know how valuable it is to bring your dream kitchen to life. As one of Lacey, WA’s top kitchen design centers, we combine creativity and expertise to create spaces that reflect who you are and how you live.
From classic style to smart storage and eco-friendly options, here are our expert tips to assist you in creating the kitchen you’ve always dreamed of.
Define Your Kitchen Goals Before Starting the Design Process
Our professional kitchen designers in Lacey, WA, believe it’s crucial to step back and determine what you want from your custom kitchen design before we get into materials, finishes, or layouts.
Do you require a more efficient layout for cooking and entertaining? Are you looking for a minimalist look or a cozy, rustic feel? Are you in need of storage, or is lighting an issue?
Take a moment to evaluate your needs, kitchen layout ideas, cooking style, family size, and lifestyle. At Olympia Design Studio, we start each project with extensive consultations to learn these personal details. Your personalized kitchen design should be about you and your values, habits, and personality—not just something you pulled from a catalog.
Stay on Trend: Top Kitchen Design Trends at Our Lacey, WA Design Center
As Lacey’s go-to source for kitchen remodel projects, we remain at the forefront of design trends. Here are some standout features currently inspiring dream kitchens across the region:
1. Natural Materials for Timeless Appeal
Wood cabinetry, natural stone countertops, and earthy finishes are making a strong comeback. Not only do these elements create warmth, but they provide lasting durability as well. According to expert kitchen designers in Lacey, WA, adding materials such as quartz, oak, or reclaimed wood can add a grounded, sophisticated touch to your kitchen.
2.Bold Colors for a Kitchen that Pops
Gone are the days of all-white kitchens. Today’s custom kitchen design embraces moody green, dark navy, and dramatic black tones for islands and cabinets. Coupled with gold hardware or blended metals, these colors create a strong visual statement.
3. Stylish and Modern Cabinet Designs
Think slab-front cabinets, open shelving, and minimalist hardware. Modern cabinetry designs aren’t just sleek—they’re smart. Many of our kitchen remodel clients in Lacey, WA, are integrating hidden drawers, pull-out spice racks, and vertical kitchen storage solutions into their cabinetry for form and function.
Brighten Your Kitchen: Lighting Ideas from Our Design Center in Lacey, WA
Lighting is undervalued yet plays a determining role in personalized kitchen design. We suggest layering three varieties of lighting:
- Ambient lighting: General overhead lights that set the tone for your space.
- Task lighting: Under-cabinet lights or pendant lights above work areas like islands and countertops.
- Accent lighting: Highlight architectural features or open shelving with LED strips or small fixtures.
At Olympia Design Studio, we provide premium kitchen lighting ideas that make your space more functional and beautiful.
Clever Storage Solutions: Maximize Space
Effective storage can turn an otherwise tiny kitchen into an expansive room. Some of our favorite kitchen storage solutions include:
- Deep pull-out drawers for pots and pans
- Corner cabinets with lazy Susans or pull-out trays
- Vertical dividers for baking sheets and cutting boards
- Custom drawer organizers for utensils and spices
Our team of professional kitchen design center experts in Lacey, WA, specializes in creative, tailored storage options that make your kitchen work smarter.
Go Green: Sustainable Kitchen Design Ideas
Sustainability is not a trend—it’s a way of life. More homeowners in Lacey, WA, and nearby areas are choosing eco-friendly kitchen design practices to minimize environmental impact and create healthier indoor spaces. Some sustainable choices we recommend:
- FSC-certified wood cabinetry
- Low-VOC paints and finishes
- Energy-efficient appliances
- Recycled glass or composite countertops
At Olympia Design Studio, we prioritize sustainable kitchen design elements that don’t sacrifice style.
Personalize Your Kitchen: Make Your Lacey, WA Home Truly Unique with Design
No two families (or homes) are the same, so why compromise on a cookie-cutter kitchen? Personalization is our guiding principle. Our expert kitchen designers work with purpose, whether it’s a coffee station built-in, a custom breakfast nook, or hand-picked backsplash tile.
- We can help you incorporate:
- Mix-and-match textures

These thoughtful details transform your kitchen into a space you truly love.
